Rules and Regulations

The foundation of Performance Cup Canada is built on fairness, clarity, and true driver competition. Our rulebook is designed to create a level playing field where preparation, consistency, and skill determine success not just raw horsepower or budget.

Each class within the series is structured around a clear power-to-weight format, ensuring competitive balance from Grand Sport’s high-performance machines to Street Touring’s accessible entry-level builds. Technical regulations, safety standards, and sporting procedures are all crafted to promote close racing while maintaining the professionalism expected at a national motorsport level.

The complete rules and regulations are currently being finalized and will be released soon. They’ll provide teams and drivers with all the information needed to prepare cars, plan race weekends, and compete with confidence.

Below is an overview of some of the key elements that define the Performance Cup Canada rulebook:

Open Engine Layouts

Unlike many other series, Performance Cup Canada places no restrictions on engine layout. Whether front, mid, or rear-engine, teams are free to innovate within their chosen class limits. This approach celebrates engineering diversity and rewards smart design without compromising fairness.

Power-to-Weight Classification

All cars are balanced using a clear power-to-weight ratio system to ensure competitive parity across Grand Sport, Touring, and Street Touring. This is regulated at every event with the use of an on-site dynamometer.

Safety and Compliance

All vehicles must meet series-approved safety standards and pass pre-race inspections to ensure driver and team safety.

Professional Conduct and Sportsmanship

Drivers and crews are expected to uphold the spirit of competition and maintain respect on and off the track.
